More NC Fun!

We did some other fun stuff, too, when we were in North Carolina.

We had delicious goodies at Guglhupf in Durham. There was a neat water fountain to check out.

We went to the Duke Bookstore and I turned into a Cameron Crazy.

We visited the North Carolina Life and Science Museum, where I rode on a cool train with Mommy and Daddy.

Daddy and I looked for butterflies in the Butterfly House.

Mommy helped me look too.

Then we saw interesting bugs and critters, like these Poison Dart Frogs. They were really pretty.

We went to Alex and Elizabeth's house. They live in a house that was built in the 1920's. (Alex was Daddy's Fencing Coach at Duke.)

We saw a ground hog at Alex's house. He scurried up a tree to hide from us.

I didn't get my naps like I am supposed during most of the trip. I passed out for most of the flight home.

Hog Day (with Movies)

We went up to Hillsborough, North Carolina for Hog Day and some yummy NC BBQ.

We got a great spot in the shade and I rolled around on the blanket.

Christy and Mike had ALOT to celebrate!

Daddy rode a mechanical bull!

Mommy helped me ride my first pony!

Look at my black walnut. I found it and it is very important to me.

Whew! What a wonderful day!

GO, DADDY, GO!

Fat Lip

I got a fat lip today. There was blood everywhere. You should have seen the other baby!

I was really practicing my cruising skills. My feet didn't exactly keep up with me.

It's not so bad that I can't manage a smile though!

Boo Boo Face

I was sitting down to have my afternoon snack and Mommy put my bib on me. I started to tug it off. Mommy didn't raise her voice, but she told me, "No" and that I had to leave my bib on to eat. That upset me.

Here it comes. Oh yeah, Momma?

BOO BOO FACE! Take that! I'm a little sensitive.

Father's Day

We let Daddy sleep in until 8:30 a.m. Then it was time to get up and open presents!

Gracie took care of the wrapping paper.

I picked the card out all by myself, Daddy.

Good reading, Daddy!

When I am read to, I study the pages very carefully.

After church, we took Daddy to brunch. The lady brought me a pony to play with. The pony had a sparkly mane.

A rare shot of Chris SMILING.

What a nice family!

Happy Father's Day!

Reading

I like to look at my books.

Pre-Father's Day

Daddy bought himself a bathing suit that the rest of the family agreed was unacceptable. Since we were going to Aquatica today, Daddy needed something more appropriate. I let him open one of his Father's Day gifts, a little early, so he wouldn't embarrass me and Chris again.

Open it, Daddy.

See how cool you'll look in your cool new swimsuit, T-shirt, and flip flops? Chris and I talked it over and you can ONLY use the other one in our pool, when no guests are around.

I'll get that piece of wrapping paper for you.

Where did the time go?

Yea, me!

Broccoli

When I can get it in my mouth, broccoli is tasty.

ISR, Halfway Mark

I'm still not liking ISR. Now, I cling to Mommy or Daddy when we go near the pool for lessons. I like Miss Monika and I smile at her, but I DO NOT want to go in the water with her. I know how to hold my breath and I spit the water out. I am making progress, but I cry the entire time I'm in the pool. It breaks Mommy's heart.

I tend to lock my toes together and that's not the right way to float, so I am learning to touch the wall an unlock my toes.

The Master Instructor takes over because I am not rolling over when I am turned underwater. I wait for someone to help me.

They are trying to teach me to turn, so I am reaching for the wall. This will help me roll in the water.

Still not having any fun, but my toes aren't locked together!

Practicing my rolling.

Favorite Play Spots

I have a couple of new spots where I like to play.

This is why the top of my head is flat.

I like to pat the chair alot too.

Aquatica!

We finally got in! Woo-hoo!

Checking out the water spouting out of the kayak.

Moving my leg, back and forth, over a jet.

Floatin' around in a big ol' tube.

Closed? (Includes Splash Pad Movie)

We have season passes to the new SeaWorld water park, Aquatica. Today we went out there to check it out for the first time. By the time we got there, it was full. So full that they wouldn't let anyone else in. What's up with that? So we went over to SeaWorld instead. They have a splash pad, but I know it wasn't nearly as much fun as Aquatica would have been. We'll have to try again another day.
